Cpanel file manager

I just uploaded 1.2 GB of pics to my webspace. All of them were in folders. When I went in to cpanel file manager and looked at the directory tree (left hand side of the screen) I do not see the individual directories but when I look at the right hand side, which shows the contents of the directory I am looking at, I see the directories, can see that each entry is a httpd/unix directory. Why don't the directories that I uploaded show on the left hand side as directories?

I believe what you see in the left column is the collapsed directory tree. If you click on the plus-sign to the left of the directory name, it should expand the tree to include its subfolders.
