newbie-public_html empty

My public_html folder seems to be empty, no index folder, htaccess, nada. What now? Very new to all of this, just trying to understand...When I go to mydomain.com I see nothing, not even a bluehost under construction page, but ftp.mydomain.com works for both my primary and addon domains. How do I access the files associated with each domain? Thanks for your patience with my newbie ?'s

Also, is there a way to reset everything if I erase an essential folder? OOps...Found help resetting to default using Live Chat. Thanks support!

For any add-on or sub-domain you can reset all the default files by removing and re-adding the domain.

For the main domain you could create a temporary sub-domain and copy the files from there.
