Using Email

Hello,

I was wondering if someone could help me figure out how to use the bluehost email system?

I just did an experiment with my gmail account, sending an email to my bluehost account, and I recieved a Delivery Status Notification, saying that it failed permanately.

I also don't have Oulook Express...am I going to need to download an email software...like the one Firefox has or...?

Any help appreciated.

Was your account new at the time? If so then it takes time for the mail to work properly. I waited a week before setting up my email on both of my domains. Email is used the same way. name@yourdomain.com. If you want to setup outlook you can. The mail servers are mail.yourdomain.com for both pop and smtp. Also the server requires secure authentication. It's that easy to setup.

Also the server requires secure authentication.A quick clarification. You need to set Outlook for "My outgoing server requires authentication." However, you do not want to check the box for "Logon using secure password authentication." Those are two very different things!
