Hi all!

First, bluehost is awesome.
Second, I have a question. Is there any support for RTMP (red5, etc) or anything of the sort? I have a podcast (RSS feed) and I would like to stream it through a flash player. I'm using JW flash player, however, you cannot seek through MP3 files unless they are streamed through RTMP and I would like to have this ability.

Thanks

Ok, let me rephrase my question. Can I install Red5 (http://osflash.org/red5) on my bluehost server/site?

That script is written in Java. Since BlueHost doesn't run JSP on their servers you would need to find a way to actually run Java on the server first in order to have any chance of getting that script to install. Since there is very limited CPU on shared hosting the overheads of all the scripts you'd need to install to get it to work even if there is such a combination would mean you'd soon exceed CPU limits probably before getting the final script to actually do anything significant.

You'd do better looking for hosting that already has JSP installed and for a site where you want to do streaming a VPS or dedicated account would be more appropriate than a shared account.

Thank you for your reply! It's not that important, in fact I believe I have found a much easier way to accomplish what I want (using the word press audio player).
