I received an email from the Abuse department at BH saying that I am in violation of their Terms of service because I have too many files on my account. I host 20 domains (mostly non-profits for Scouts ect) with lots of picture galleries. I started with 430,000 files and I am now down to around 90k but need to be below 50k or my account will be suspended.

I need a way to get the number of files starting a higher level directory and drill down similiar to the way you can do that in windows with a simple right click properties.

Does anyone know of a shell command or script that could help me get this info?

Thanks!!

John

Not exactly what you're after, but go to Control Panel, File Manager, navigate to /home/username/tmp, and view the userquota file. It gives you a count of the files in each subdirectory (no higher-level totals, however).
