Domain Name Transfer not working?

The domain name transfer seems to be very buggy.

First off, i'm attempting to transfer a domain i own from lycos, however, it is detecting the administrative email not the owner email.

So i emailed my old admin (lycos) and they sent me the verification code. Hooray i thought, however, now on the pay screen i'm met with this message:

"For security reasons, your account must be verified before continuing. Make sure your phone number and email are accurate or else you'll need to contact Customer Service."

The whole process is very buggy for me, can someone help me transfer my domain?

Did you have lycos hosting???
I never register my domain name through my web host...
I used to use GoDaddy, but now resell domain name registrations... What I'm trying to say is to use something like GoDaddy where you have complete control on being able to set the nameservers.
When transfering a domain name from one registrar to another, there are lots of emails and verifications that take place to keep your domain name secure and that it is really you who is authorizing the transfer.
Before these kinds of procedures were in place, I do remember hearing about people getting their domain names stolen out from under them...
