serious problem!

i was trying to install an additional wordpress blog on my site when something went horridly wrong and it appears the new blog saved over my old one. it also appears that the backup file it made previous to installing failed because that file is also "clean" (not modified by myself).

at the moment i really don't care about figuring out what exactly went wrong (i'm absolutely positive the new blog was set to be created in a new folder), but i want the last year's worth of blogging back! what can i do?

download a weekly or maybe even a daily back up (depending on when this happened)
