Not receiving mail through Outlook Express

I am having a problem with mail coming through Express. My addresses are configured correctly as it will work one day and then not for several days. I have contacted bluehost and am told nothing is wrong. Yet, for the past 6 months this has been happening. It doesn't work more than it does. Has anyone else had this problem using a POP3? If so, how did you fix it? I have tried switching to Eudora, thinking it was Express, but had the same problem.

Sure would apppreciate any imput into this.

I use Thunderbird with no problems. Check which bluehost server you are on and use the server name as your incoming and outgoing servers. See if that helps. On mine I am using box381.bluehost.com for each.

Also try it with and without SSL enabled. Since you are using POP3, your incoming port with SSL will be 995 and without SSL will be 110.

Also try backing up your emails(if you have any important ones you feel need to be backed up) and deleting, then recreating your mail account.

If you continue to have these problems, when you are having them, run a traceroute and a telnet to see what happens.

Check which bluehost server you are on and use the server name as your incoming and outgoing servers.
That's fine until BH moves your account to a different server, and your email suddenly stops working. When that happens, the repeated attempts by your email client program to connect are seen as a hacking attempt, and you'll find your IP completely blocked by BH. Been there.

Also try it with ... SSL enabled.
Also problematic. If you use your domain name as the incoming and outgoing servers, Outlook (not sure about OE) will complain bitterly about the mismatch between the domain name and the name on the SSL cert, and there's no way to turn off the warning. Thunderbird, on the other hand, does let you decide to accept the SSL cert despite the name problem.

Appreciate the help. It has had me totally confused since it will work one day and not the next. I might add, no configuring was changed. This has been going on for at least 6 months. Fine before that.
