If Matt Heaton's blog (http://www.mattheaton.com/?p=208) is to believed (post of July 26, 2009), the "CPU Quota Exceeded" message will soon be a relic. Bluehost is implementing some kernel mods that will, in theory, prevent any single user on a shared server from consuming more CPU resources than the system can provide without adversely affecting other users. An account that places excessive demands on CPU resources will be throttled, but not cut off. Tools will be provided that will allow an account owner to see what kind of CPU resources he or she has been using, to see whether his or her account is being throttled, and so on. An account owner who wants to purchase access to additional resources will be able to do so.
