Ok we have a small game server that we're writing.
Now this isn't going to be an MMORPG or anything. It's more of a 2 player battle game, and we plan on running large tournaments using it... eventually. So there will be simultaneous games running throughout the tournament.
Now I know Bluehost don't allow game server programs to run on their hosting packages. (I did the right thing and checked with them first. ;) )
But does anyone know of anyone who offers a service like this?
The traffic will be small as most of the processing is handled client side, each game is limited to 2 players at a time and the server will be connected to watch the games and allow game officials to connect to view the progress of the games and/or moderate them and record game progress data.
We'll be limiting the number simultaneous games to start with. and obviously won't ever go beyond the transfer limit of the server. Though all that will be greatly reduced while development and Beta happens anyway.
I'll also need SQL access of some kind to store statistics and game data.
So do you know of a host who would allow for this? Alternatively does anyone have any other suggestions for this?
