You are responsible for installing newer versions of software on your account. BH doesn't do this for you.

The current version of Joomla, available from Control Panel, SimpleScripts, is 1.5.14.

You will have to update your Joomla installation on yourself!

You find the update packages for Joomla under: http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomla/frs/?action=FrsReleaseBrowse&frs_package_id=4734

An up-to-date Joomla is a must have!
In nearly every update more less or high security level issues are fiexed!

Yes, it's important to stay up-to-date, especially with a popular script like Joomla. As soon as a security hole is found, you can bet there will be hackers out there exploiting it. The makers of Joomla jump on these very quickly, and issue new versions to plug the holes.

In fact, with Joomla 1.5.0, I'd be surprised if your site hadn't already been hacked.

Hi, I have the appropriate patch 1.5.14. How do I go about upgrading my current version. Do I go through the C-panel in my remote host? use FTP, how?
Thanks for the help.

Download the appropriate patch from 1.5.0 to 1.5.14 and use one of the following methods:

1) upload the zip or tar.gz file to the according folder with Joomla located in and use SSH to unzip.

2) Use a FTP Tool and Unzip the zip or tar.gz to the according folder.

3) upload the zip or tar.gz file to the according folder with Joomla located in and use "CPanel File Manager" to unzip.

Before this you can be on the safe side to make a backup, that you can do a step backwards if any problems occure with the updates!
I never discovered any problems in updating Joomla.
