I am in the process of switching hosts to bluehost. I have made an E-mail address that was the same on my old host but now the internet is basically saying that it doesn't exist. Now my domain name hasn't switched over yet. Could that be a problem?

Yes that could be the problem. Switching over takes place gradually over a period of time as the thousands of domain name servers around the world gradually recognise the change. While some switch almost straight away and most switch within a couple of days there are a few slow ones that take weeks.

During the transition period you can't tell whether a particular reference to your domain will land on your new hosting or your old hosting. Also since your internet access will only point at one or the other if you want to access the other one to check if mail has gone to the wrong one you need to update the hosts file on your own computer (or equivalent if you are not running windows) so as to temporarily point the domain to the other hosting just for your computer.
