It really got me thinking today.. What Operating system do you other webmasters use?
Personally I use:
Windows 7 on my Home Desktop (C++ Development + Gaming).
Mac OSX 10.6 on my MacBook Pro (School + Video Editing + Web Design (Adobe Master Suite CS4) + Anything Else).
Ubuntu Server 9.04 on my Home FileServer (NoGUI mostly just use it for backups and big downloads. (lynx for the win). + Perl Development).
And as always, CentOS 5.3 on the BH server. :)
So, What do you other webmasters use?

I got turned on to Ubuntu over a year ago and have it running on my desktop and laptop. I have a virtual installation of XP, but I only use it for testing web page rendering in IE6-8 and Chrome so I didn't include it in the poll. I would use it a lot more if I didn't have WINE at my disposal, making it possible to run Dreamweaver, PSPad, and other programs directly through Ubuntu.

Ubuntu at my work desktop.
Vista on my laptop.
XP at my home desktop for gaming. :)
Vista - unfortunately.
There are some things I like about it, like you never have to reboot because the computer has been on too long. There are annoyances as well though, like constantly being asked if you really want to run a program (after double clicking it!) and problems with some older software being allowed to write changes to their data files. (I still can't customize my UT2004 key bindings).
Well, it was already installed on my computer when I bought it so I guess its not worth "buying a downgrade."
I use Windows XP. I like XP, but I know eventually I will have to move on...

I've been digging windows 7.. it's very clean looking, and when when used in conjunction with rocket dock and rainmeter it makes it stunning..

I'm stuck with XP but I'm trying out Ubuntu to see if it meets up.

XP-Pro on all but two.
Just downgraded my wife's laptop from Vista to XP .. man ... what a difference a day makes huh?
I've LAMP on one of the others and Ubuntu.
XP is the all around workhorse though. At least for now.

Ubuntu for all but 2,
**** Small Linux (for kicks on 48Mb RAM PC),
Win98 for browser compatibility checking on 1 isolated PC,
Yes I know, but it WAS the most widely used installation at one point!

Well, the Mac here does all the primary work. I converted over a couple years ago after using MS since DOS3. I was using Win XP Pro, and couldn't stand using Vista, so I never went there.
I do have VMware Fusion running various flavors of Windows XP for cross-compat checking (and to remember why I moved to Mac OSX). Others running under Fusion are a couple of CentOS versions, some Fedora versions, and one Ubuntu.
I recently downloaded and installed Sun's VirtualBox, but I haven't tested it very much yet. I have Parallels, but I'm dumping them like a hot rock.
At the end of the day though, I rely on the Mac and MAMP with various other tools for development and testing.
I have been using Windows XP, but am thinking about upgrading to Windows 7 - I just have to read more reviews to see how it is...

My vista patience is running very low these days .
You should try linux. :) go with an easy distro like ubuntu first, then once you get comfortable and want something lighter faster and more all around awesome you can get Arch Linux :)

I probably would have switched to ubuntu a while ago, but I need program support that it cannot offer me. Dual boot is a hassle at this point.

Dual boot is a hassle int.
Setting up the second operating system using a VM makes things much easier - you can be running both at the same time. I have Ubuntu (and several other OS) set up to run under WinXP and can have wo or more OS running at the same time.

I am new to Linux(Ubuntu). Before this I have been using Windows 7. I am pretty comfortable with Linux now. I am sure I will definitely become an export in Linux.

I use the custom version of GNU/Linux that my company maintains: Nexradix (http://www.nexradix.com)
It's based on a modified Ubuntu, with a variety of usability and feature enhancements.
I have no use for Windows any more, for the most part, except for a few video editing tasks.

I'm forced to use Vista for my graphics work because I have issues with WineHQ and Linux with the new Adobe CS5 suite on my laptop.
Everything else is done with Linux as the OS. SuSe and Ubuntu are my flavors of choice. :D

Hello Everyone, This seems like a good place to start posting so everyone here can get to know me. I use Windows 7 on my lap top and XP on my desktop, but my next one will have Windows 7 on it.
I read somewhere that Microsoft will be coming out with Windows 8 in the near future but I don't know when that will be.
