how to find who my domain registrar is?

I registered a domain name several years ago and now can't recall who the registrar was. Anybody know how to figure that out?

If the domain is not active anymore you cannot do a WHOIS to find out. With DomainTools you can get a Silver Membership with which you can see the records of the site but that will cost money.
