Hi,
I was wondering if any of you good people could educate me about what processor and video card will work best with each other. Im shopping on Dell's website and dont know if i should choose an upgraded video card or keep the standard one, especially if i get a HD display!
I selected a Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T6500 (2.1GHz/800Mhz FSB/2MB cache) processor and a 15.6” High Definition (720p) LED Display. Should i upgrade the video card from a Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD video card to a 256MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 or higher?

It all depends on what you are going to use the computer for.

Basic business type applications will run quite well on just about any graphics card. Games and video applications may require higher end cards - just exactly what is usually specified in the list of requirements for the application.

Graphics card makes a difference, definitely. But as said above, it really depends on what your primary use of the laptop is. I use mine for many things, not limited to media and work related activity and upgraded video card option does help. BTW, i also have a dell built system.

If you require to upgrade it, then you should. But if there is no need then why waste money in upgrading?
