I managed after some headaches to get IMAP/SSL working for my iphone but now my mailbox shows on top of the usual apple folders, there are some duplicates with plain folders of "Deleted Messages", "Drafts", "Junk", "Sent", "Spam", and "Trash".

When I had this setup under Pop these folders were not there and I'd like to remove them if possible. Any ideas?

Just to make sure I am reading you correctly, you have duplicate folders for the mentioned folders?

The duplicates indicate that folders for these mail categories exist both on your server and locally on your iPhone.

The plain, grey folders represent the mail types on your server, and the mail types represented by icons (Inbox, paper airplane...) are the mail folders that exist on your iPhone. The latter exist in addition to and separate from the mail folders on your server.

You may add or remove the local folders by going to Settings > Mail > Account > Advanced, and then to the individual categories (Drafts; Sent; Trash, Junk) under Mailbox Behaviors to decide how you'd like them to appear or not appear in each IMAP account you have on your phone.
