I have been using my domain in Bluehost and my web content during almost a year without any problem. I have had many visits.
But suddenly, last week, my site was occupied by other provider, apparently my previous provider, that has erases all my web content.
How is it possible?
Now, I wrote this old provider (Lycos-United Domain) asking for my domain to be transfer to Bluehost, but nor Bluehost, neither Lycos are helping me.
Some tickets to Bluehost were non useful, the same a fax sent to Lycos.
What can I do to recuperate my domain in Bluehost? I am the owner of that domain, and I cannot explain myself how this interruption has been produced after one year of complete and satisfactory use of my website.
My domain expires on 2011.

There is no way that the domain could suddenly be under different ownership unless someone had access to your Domain Manager and EPP code and issued a transfer. Which, is technically your responsibility to maintain security for.

Also, your domain could have expired and was passed the redemption period. You may want to investigate the facts a little further, then consider contacting the Technical Support Department for the prior provider.

Good luck.

My domain expires on June 2010. I am the only ownership, but the question is this:
1) I bought my domain in Lycos;
2) Lycos disappeared;
3) I made the transfer of my domain to Bluehost, my new provider.
4) I work in Bluehost during almost a year with my domain.
5) Suddenly, United Domain occupied my site informing everybody that that domain must be transfer.
Apparently I made the correct transfer one year ago, but not; my domain is still under the rules of United Domain the technical administrator for all Lycos domain registrations;
A total and complete madness.

Did you actually transfer the domain registration to BlueHost or did you just change the nameservers to point to your BlueHost hosting?

To find out who the domain registrar is do a whois query on your domain name. If the query says that the domain registrar is FastDomain then the domain is registered with BlueHost. If not then the domain is still registered elsewhere.

I thought I really transfer my domain, but it is possible, as you said, that only pointed the DNS to Bluehost.
In Who Is, still appears Lycos.
I have send a fax to the administrator of Lycos (United Domains) asking them to release my domain. But it was 5 days ago. I am still waiting.
Thank you very much moderator.
