Not highlighting clickspace

In the words of my beloved yet annoying wife

"Stop showing that dotted box around my links when I click it!"

Now, the usual idea, hiding the clickspace with a border, isn't an option. What can I do?

If you turn off the outline then anyone who doesn't have a mouse will not be able to tell where they are on the page. That outline moves from field to field as you tab between them to show which field has the focus (and will therefore be the one acted on if you press the enter key).

If your wife wants to get rid of them on her browser then you need a user stylesheet attached to the browser to turn off the outlines.
