This is my first posting on this forum.

Well, as the subject line says, every graphic I am trying to transfer here is unreadable. Generally, they look about the same width but about one tenth the height. I'd say they are almost 100% gif graphics.

I used FileZilla for the download and the upload (which moves quite fast) and I thought that might be the problem but the HTML pages look fine. When I try to upload the correct graphic to BlueHost, sometimes it takes effect and sometimes it doesn't.
Any ideas would be welcome.

The difference between the HTML files and the image files is that the HTML files need to be transferred using text mode while the image files need to be transferred using binary mode. Filezilla normally has that option set to auto so that it works out for itself which of the two modes to use. If it used the wrong mode to transfer the images then that could result in images being damaged during the transfer. The problem you describe doesn't sound like what I would expect if that were happening but it is the only way I can think of where Filezilla could affect the image files at all.
