I'm trying to install ELGG Ver. 1.5.
when I'm trying to save the last system setings page, This problem comes on:
"500 Server Error
A misconfiguration on the server caused a hiccup. Check the server logs, fix the problem, then try again."
In the the bluehost help center they told me that this is the problem:
Me: Hi Jake! ELGG requires 777 only for the installation process, once done it can be changed back to 755 - is there no way to accomplish this?
what happens is that I change to 777, but when clicking to complete the installation I get this message Dangerously writable: [/home/username/public_html/net]
FIXED
This is not a problem with ELGG, as I have it installed on a different host with no problems.
Blue Host help : if the system will let you change to that then fine but we dont support the install of third party scripts..
Me: I understand although don't quite get how I was able to install my own version of wordpress mu (not using simple scripts)/
Blue Host help : i am not sure what there is to understand about that.
Blue Host help : you can install scripts on your own.. we just will not help you.
Me: I really dont need help installing the script, my problem is in getting Bluehost not to "fix" the 777 until the installaion is complete. is there a way to do that?
Blue Host help : As i said before.. We do not support 777.. if you can get it to work then Fine.. but as per us.. you may not use 777 permissions.
Any one as a web site of ELGG on Blue Host and can help Me with this problem?
Thanks for any help.
