I get a 500 server error using my forums SQL toolbox http back-up system for my forums whereas on my old host it always worked.

I simply clicked it and it generated a SQL back-up of my forums and started download. Now I get 500 error page :(

Why is this happening?

Looks like i will also not be able to use alot of my forums other automated features such as some cron jobs to set google off once per day reading my sitemap.

Very frustrating, however It really is important i can get my sql back-ups done, please do not tell me i have to use MyPHP/MySQL each time via control panel.

There should be no need and i should be able to use my forum software fully like I did on my last host :(

Anychance anyone can help me please?

I am using IPB and the error I get is when trying to do a MySQL backup via HTTP:

500 Server Error
A misconfiguration on the server caused a hiccup. Check the server logs, fix the problem, then try again.

But there is nothing in the error log in cpanel remotely similiar to this problem!

This is a HUGE problem for me, I back-up my forums SQL each week incase we get hacked.

Also once per month i back-up the full site, but i hear people backing up the full site also have problems because of CPU usage or something which is freaking me out to even attempt to do as I really can't afford them problems after a full back-up?

This is turning into a nightmare.

Obviously if I can't get the answer here I will contact customer support, It is just i know how busy they are and hate to add to there problems when someone could maybe help me here to solve it myself and so avoid making there support queue longer for others.

P.S. I'll try to do the back-up via cpanel, I am just thinking of the safest way to do it, I know the way I do back-ups always works, however the PHPmyadmin way has so many options it is hard to know what to and what not to tick to do a working back-up. OR Wether to use the backup tool directly through cpanel for that database instead, but yet again is that 100% gaurantee it will import correctly if need be?

BTW I hope when i do the SQL back-up via cpanel I do not get that CPU overuse thing as I will be putting in a request to get my money back if it affects members of my site. I mean it is just crazy hindering webmasters from doing back-ups of there site and makes no sense at all (I have never heard of any other hosting doing such a thing).

==============================================

*EDIT*|*UPDATE* - I have just worked out it is because Bluehost does not support GZIP Downloads via HTML maybe, or the actual GZIPing of data on there server to prepare for download?

So this turns what is a GZIP 10.8MB file into a sql/txt 45.2MB file, great :(

Oh well atleast i can do a SQL backup now of my forums atleast which is the main thing.

I am still hesitant about doing a full site backup though as if it affects visitors to my site I will have to get my money back whilst i still can and switch hosting again.... unless this is truely being looked into to be sorted out sometime in the very near future about the CPU problem?
