I apologize, as I posted this before, but said I would try again and actually thought I just didn't ftp the files correctly. But, now, after 3 attempts, I still have a corrupted screen. Has anyone ever seen such a thing? I really want to use OS Commerce, because they work with my merchant account and seem to be more than I would ever need. You can see this mess at

Thanks in advance for any advice!:(

That's pretty strange-looking! But there's nothing wrong with the HTML - the images themselves are garbage. As a quick check, I pointed to http://www.academyarts.net/catalog/install/images/install.gif, which should be the image for a "New Install," and it's just a blur. So, it's not as if the images are being mangled by the code in some way.
I can't offer anything beyond that, having never touched OS Commerce myself. Anyone out there have any experience with it?

that's really strange. if you used Fantastico, uh, don't anymore, I guess. I didn't have anything weird like that happen to me. re-download the archive and reinstall it.
...or you could always adjust your set ::ducks::

I didn't use fantastico for this. I did use it for something previously that I ended up not using----ZenCart

I have been trying for 3 days to install and set up OS Commerce on my site. I have been getting blurry and distorted images and no one has known why. I posted here and on the OS Commerce forum. I finally made the very wise move of opening a "Ticket" and was told about Fantastico having a OS Commerce option. I used it and wham bam thank you mam I have a site! Thanks Blue Host! Thanks also to Page1Ink above for bringing up Fantastico---where was my brain?

I know exactly what your problem is. This is a very common problem with people learning OSC. You need to go into your Admin Control Panel of OSC. Click on Configuration then images. Set your image height and width to 0, or you can install a simple contribution to keep them from distorting.U would also recommend installing ultra pics. Shoot me an IM and I can help you out with all these issues.
