I never realised that you had to turn on awstats or webalizer for stats to be available, so now that I need to know the number of hits on my site in the past month more or less I have none of that :(

I've turned it on now but that doesnt help me for hits before today. Is there any other way of at least getting the number of visitors or hits? Nothing fancy like pie charts and countries they came from is needed.

Unless you had another stats program like Google Analytics running, you are out of luck, my friend.

I have gotten so use to Google analytics for my sites that I did not turn on stats either. It can be good to use both and compare from time to time.

I wonder if Alexa may have some stats you could use?

Thanks for the suggestions guys :)

I ended up using a combination of Alexa and a few stats Joomla keeps.

And now awstats is enabled for the future!

I only use Google Analytics as well on all my sites instead of AWStats. I just find the level of information amazing and it keeps getting better...

So without a log based stats system how do you track what percentage of your visitors are not included in the GA stats due to their not running JavaScript (usually around 5-10% of web users).
