View Full Version : Editing Pages
Is it possible to edit a webpage from the control panel? I don't mean building a webpage, just editing some text on an existing webpage. If so from where in the panel can I do so? Thanks

You can edit it online through the File Manager in your BH cPanel.

There is a way under File Manager, although there will be those that recommend not using it.
On the left side drill down to the file you want to edit, probably somewhere under public_html, and then select it in the right hand side (a check mark will appear showing you selected this file).
Click on either Edit or Edit Code at the top of the window. Stay away from the HTML Edit choice.
All said and done, I would recommend that you use an FTP Client such as Filezilla to connect to your site. Use your favorite local editor to make the change and then upload it.
EDIT: Ach! redsox9 beat me to it, but I'll leave my post anyway.

I have found the File Manager edit option useful for making quick fixes to web pages when I am away from home and decide the fix can't wait til I get home.
Thanks for the replies. I'm giving my site a make over so at the moment I can't upload the page because the new layout uses different css than what's on uploaded pages. So I only want a quick fix on a mistake for one of the pages that are already there without re-uploading the page. Why do you say stay away from the HTML Edit choice?

The editor isn't as fancy as the ones you can have installed on your own computer plus you don't get the automatic backup copy of the file on your own computer.
For the quick fix you are trying to do it is an appropriate choice.
