Hi, there are all these services that promise a certain number of unique visitors within a time period for a fee (i.e. $10 for 2,500 unique visitors within 30 days).

Has anyone tried these services?
Anyone tried growstats.com?
Did it bring the promised traffic?
Did the traffic turn into actual business?
Does using these kind of services hurt your ranking -- perhaps by creating what google might consider "bad" links?

Any and all comments greatly appreciate!

The best way to generate traffic is organically. That way you know that the people visiting your site are coming there because of the interesting content. For example, you can post a link to your site at TheWebtitan.com (http://thewebtitan.com/phpBB2).

The services, on the other hand, can end up hurting your web ranking because many of them use spam to generate listings. Plus, you can end up on the service list, and you get a lot traffic which is only bots trying to post links on your site.

some of these services send bot traffic with high bounce rate and zero conversion. avoid if possible.

All backlinks to TheWebTitan are generated organically. Please fill free to backlink there.

Alright, if you want traffic that converts into business you'll need to pay attention to your keywords and make sure you're building links to the terms that people look for when they're ready to spend money..

I don't know the niche of your website's business, but lots of specific content (with keywords bolded or in headers) with backlinks using anchor text matching the terms you want to rank for.

A good place to start is by checking out the backlinks of the people who rank above you on the heavily searched phrases. Just watch what works, then copy it :p

I don't really buy traffic. I once learned that all the traffic are coming only from the same ip meaning they obviously manipulated just to let you think that their service is good actually they are just scam.

As with any reputable business, you need a business plan to determine the best approach to driving traffic to your site, whether it is through ad spots posted on other sites, "responsible" backlinks, or traditional media sources (print and television). Determine what you are willing to budget for this (in time AND money) and stick with it.

If you are going to go with a service that promises unique traffic numbers, research the approach they intend to take and request testimonials from other businesses who have used their services. You should be able to quickly determine whether the money would be well-spent. $10 might seem like a bargain, but $100 may generate better results and provide more impact.

there is always TOS agreement attached. You can check on it and should shows you the limitation of their service.

there is no guarantee of quality traffic. Why pay for untargeted traffic? the conversion is extreme low.

I wouldn't ever pay for guaranteed traffic. Your going to get bots hitting your site like crazy, and its all "fake" lol. Always go for organic traffic, link building, do your SEO work, or even pay with Google adwords. The sites promising 10,000 visitors for like $40 is a hoax and scam. And even if it were manual visits, do you really think they are going to be targeted and convert into a sale. They are just in it to make money and take advantage of others who are new to the web :)

Don't use paid traffic like that, I used to and trust me - all it's good for is raising Alexa rank, and what's that good for? Oh yeah, nothing.

The only conceivable reason I could see paying for a bit of traffic would be if you were trying to sell advertising...and boost your stats. I cant see it being worthwhile or even remotely ethical though.
It seems like a very dated idea...like 1997.

I don't advise anybody to buy this kind of fake traffic. Most of the so-called traffic are generated by bots that can sometimes cause bandwidth issues.

This thread appears to be collecting more spam than it is valid posts, and it has probably outlived it's usefulness.

Locking.
