Hello all,
I have started using Dreamweaver 8 recently and updated my site with it. I have one problem: in the menu navigation bar on top of my pages, I am using the programme's flash buttons to link to other pages. In preview mode these work fine, but they don't work online. Where the buttons are supposed to be, there is a white void. I can't see what I am doing wrong. Any ideas to fix this? Thanks.

Make sure you have an up-to-date flash player (http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash). :) See if that fixes your problem. Also remember to ask other if they're having the same problem that you are. They might be seeing something different then you are.

I have the latest Flash Player installed. The flash buttons do work in preview mode while working with Dreamweaver. And I get the same thing on the three other computers in the house...
I found something on the Macromedia site about a problem where the flash buttons don't work in the preview mode but do work online. But I have the problem turned around.

Could it be something odd with those flash files? If I upload a flash module I have on another site to my Bluehost account and browse directly to it, I see it fine and dandy. If I go to (for example) http://www.textwriters.net/images/buttons/newspapers.swf I don't see anything (although I know it did find SOMETHING since I get the alt menu, but it's balnk white.

i had a similar problem.
which browser are you using?
sometimes when you get the latest flash playewr, some of my browser didnt update their settings, for a while my IE didnt update when i installed a newer flash player, resulting in some flash stuff to not show.
i'd suggest umm, when creatingf the swf telling it to use a lower level flash player.

I am using IE 6.0 sp2.
I think I'm one step futher now, although I have no idea what's wrong:
Apparently some of my images aren't uploaded. Whether I use Dreamweaver's uploading programme, Unlimited FTP or Bluehost's drag&drop FTP, they all say that the file is being uploaded but when it's done and I look in the root folder online, it says that the files are empty, i.e. filesize 0k
This concerns the .gif files and the .swf files. The .jpeg files upload fine. Help!
