Hey, do you know if it is possible to upgrade the forum softwear with Fantastico?
For example, if I pick SMF as the forum softwear when I get the bluehost package, will I be able to change the forum softwear to vbulletin or punbb, for example?

You would have to see if a database converter for SMF to whatever other forum you plan on using exists.

I know Fantastico does some updates but it really doesn’t work that well from what I herd and will mess up your site. I would suggest never using Fantastico for upgrading.

Hello, Xaritix
You can see how to upgrade your SMF installation in their site, in the online manual. The direct link to the upgrading instructions is this:

I would definitely not use Fantastico the next time you install a web site script. The better ones are very easy to install and there is nothing better then doing the things ourselves. Besides, they all (the better ones) have very good step-by-step instructions on how to install them.
Regarding this matter, this was taken from the homepage of a very well known CMS:
Fantastico De Luxe by Netenberg is an add-on for the popular cPanel web management software, available on many web hosting providers. It promises an easy, turn-key installation of dozens of web applications, including the Drupal CMS.
Unfortunately, while it may appear to fulfill those promises, the only thing Fantastico really gives you is a broken, insecure install that is hard to update.
-- Edit: --
By the way... nice choice. SMF is my favorite discussion board. I've tried some of the most popular and SMF was, by far, the best one for free.
