Hi I've set up a website for a friend who now wants control. If she creates an account on bluehost can I just transfer the domain to her account and how?

Thanks.

Does she have ownership of the domain through a registrar outside of BH? It would be as simple as her opening a BH account and you relinquishing control of the domain from your BH account (I assume that you have a BH account that that the domain is set up as an add-on). The DNS servers would remain the same. The only catch may be that you need to relinquish control before she identifies the domain as her own, which means that there might be some account downtime, but I'm not 100% sure of this.

Un-assign the domain in your Domain Manager. Once you do, you should see a button labeled something like "open a new account with this domain" - click it and go through (or have your friend go through) the signup process in order to move the domain to a new hosting account. There will be downtime while the new IP address for the new server propagates.

first, the domain have been transferred to another bluehost account but there are some files which are still left behind...is it possible to move them as well and how to move it?

second, what will happen if i deleted the remaining files in the old account...would it be error for the transfered domain ?
