So a while back I offered to host a friends website for free under my account. I helped him setup Joomla and customize a template and he has been growing the site. It is starting to gain a lot of traffic and he wants to expand with videos, shopping carts, etc etc.

I was hoping I could help him activate his own Bluehost account and move the entire website over (which is basically a Joomla install and all of the content contained within).

Anyone know a way (or the easiest way) to do that?

I do this all the time, the easiest way is to install Akeeba Backup (http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/access-a-security/site-security/backup/1606) on the website (joomla backup component) and run it to make a complete backup. It will create a zip file with all the site files including the database. Then all you need to do is create a new (blank) database on the server you are moving it too, upload the zip file to that server and unzip it in your file manager. Then access that directory with your browser, it will then run a joomla install using your backup, all you need to enter is the new database info (ie: database name, username, password) it will then install the copy of the site and import the backed up joomla database into the new blank database that you made. Then you remove the installation directory and your done! Should not take more than 30 min to do the whole thing.
