I'm new to Bluehost. I received a cPanel with alot of links and promo links and FTP links and more links. Is there a thread for new users, whom aren't programmers, who have aspirations to create a website or two without getting lost in the file hierarchy in the file manager.
If no forum for NEW users can be created then a simple link to a site or tutorial that explains what all the folders are in my file manager. If I have a main domain and addon domains can I make another domain the main domain?
Thanks!!!

New users can ask whatever questions they want in this forum. You simply need to be specific as to exactly what you are trying to do.
The only folder you initially need to worry about in file manager is public_html as that is where your web pages go.
If you have add-on domains then you need to use the add-on domain option in cPanel to assign the add-on domain to a folder within public_html.
If you want to swap your main domain with an add-on domain (because you are planning to discard the main domain) then you can ask BlueHost support to do it for you. There is no real difference between your main domain and any add-on domains except which folder the site is in.

Thank very much felgall for taking the time to answer. It helped a lot. Is there a description anywhere of the other folders or are these simply ignored? And thanks again.

www is just a shortcut to public_html for use by any scripts that expect that folder name for the public part of the site.
public_ftp is an area you can set up to allow other people to upload files to you via your site.
mail is where all your emails are stored.
most of the others are used to store the information that you configure through cPanel and so you don't need to access them directly.
