hallo everyone!

this is my first thread so i hope the senior member can help me to answer my problem.

since two week ago, i've been deleting the file on Log folder, Tmp Folder, and i've been deleting "slow query" file and "INDEX.HTML file.

but after two week, i find that my site becomes deranked by Google. is there any correlation between deleting "index.html" and deranked by google ???

the second question is what files that i can delete safely ???

thanks

index.html is the home page of your web site. Once you deleted that there was not home page to be ranked in the search engines.

You shouldn't need to delete any files as the log folder gets cleaned up automatically and tmp only contains currently running files.

thanks felgall....but the problem is the html files which always come to log folder increase my file count.

do you have any solution how to block those files?

thanks

There shouldn't be any html files getting written to your log or tmp folders. Are you running any scripts that might be doing so?

How high is your file count?
