ok first of all i must confess i m new to wordpress, websites, coding etc.
today, my website was penalised by bluehost due to cpu thorttling....i didnt know what this term was.am still unsure though.....they said i was using the resourcs too much......some pleading to the suport staff and i was able to get some questions answered (is becoming a rarity day by day ).....they told me there were useless databses which were causing problems so i deleted them as i jhad created them for test purposes..see the thorttling stats...its so pathetic...my site was throtled for 4-5 hrs u can see the peak graphs. (see pic http://img816.imageshack.us/i/throtling.jpg/)now it is less coz its late night maybe ......i want to know how to get rid of this ...its very annpyiing to get this stuff on peak traffic days........
plz check out my 2 wp sites (yes i have cache plugin insatlled and minify too) and phpbb forum

I get cpu throttling a lot as well...I have caching plugins on most of my WordPress sites but just went through all of them to make sure they all had it - hopefully this will help a bit.

I get as well throttled some times a lot (there's a thread about it...) it's not us it's their end for sure... but some how they became the kind of service that points fingers to the customers for some reason... they used to be better than this :( all those downtimes with no reason nor explanation about it, all those errors like:

Error
DBI connect('database=cp_billing;host=10.0.82.10;port= 3306:mysql_compression=1','bh',...) failed: Too many connections at /var/www/lib/DBH.pm line 66
at /var/www/lib/DBHCache.pm line 105

The throttling on brand new accounts created with 1 wordpress installation (no plugins, etc. yet it kept throttling the cpu...), and the over-all lack of customer support (talking of those representatives that just copy paste their answers without even reading the tickets...) is going down hill for some odd reason.

My Rating: From awesome hosting to poor hosting (in few months... sadly :/ )

well i dont know what to say, all support staff members say different things......one of them told me to opt for vps hosting with average traffic of around 5000 or so...i mean i have seen people hosting so many sites on shared servers with trafic like this....
since i m new to stuff so i asked what could i do to reduce the throttling and what they answer me, they told me to hire a web developer to check for thee errors.i mean what kind of support is this....no wonder there exists a site named as bluehostsucks.com or something like that....

now i have a high traffic scheduled after 10 days around 8-10 k or so...i m so worried :(
i have the cache plugins installed...btw :/ and plz bluehost tell me what is the inode limit...hostgator has around 2,50,000.what abt bluehost ?

This is a user to user forum, not a Bluehost support forum. They do visit occassionly, but not for regular support. However, to answer your question about file limits, at the top of this section you will see the following thread:
