Stop Email Confirmation Upon Import

I have a few thousand emails in an excel file that I need to import to excel.
I am going to do this through phpmyadmin.

However, before I do the import, how do I stop the email confirmation being sent out to each email address in my list.

I thinkyou need to restate your question with a bit more detail. What you have asked is a bit confusing. You are also saying that you want to import emails from an excel file to an excel file. Is that correct? Also, is it just email addresses, and not the emails themselves?

I am going to import them to Magento newsletter_subscriber table using phpMyAdmin.

However, before I import this excel file in to the newsletter_subscriber table, is there a way to stop Magento from sending out emails to each email address on my list?
