newbie needs help with domain information

I just started and don't understand the domain section. When I signed up with BlueHost, it said it would provide a FREE domain, so I entered my name in the text box..let's say NEWBIEUSER.com. Do I have to register and transfer?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

to get a new domain you have to register it.

you use transfer if you want your main domain to be one you already own and use the free domain as an add-on.
