Couple of days ago I tried logging into my website account from a different internet connection than what I normally use and I could not log in. I know that a while back bluehost made some security changes in that a secondary password is required if logging in from a different internet connection, could anyone tell me where in my account do I make this secondary password so that I won't encounter this sort of problem in the future? Also if anyone could pass along more info or a link to where I where I could learn more about this security feature that would be great. Thanks.

@emc2 I hope that's not true.

I connect all the time from completely different internet providers using the same credentials. It would drive me absolutely insane if I had to maintain yet another login for the same thing just because of connecting from a different location.

I don't believe it is. I also log in via several different locations with the same info. MySQL does require a different password than cPanel though, which was part of the change emc2 mentioned.

Really? Maybe I misunderstood, wasn't there an issue, I think it was around a year ago, where we all had to make new passwords that were more secure? There was also some talk about a secondary password as well, what was that all about? Anyone remember?

Only those people that were using easy to crack passwords were required to change them to a more secure one. Those people already using proper passwords didn't have to change them at all.

The way phpmyadmin works was changed to allow you to log into that separately rather than only through cpanel. That allowed people to set up separate secondary logins for that if they had developers they wanted to give database access to. Is that what you are referring to?

I tried today and I was able to login successfully from a different internet account. I guess before I must have mistyped my password or maybe the internet connection stalled. Anyway thanks guys for enlightening me, the way I understood it was, for extra security a secondary password was needed if your account was trying to be accessed from a different internet account or computer than what you normally use.
