Unplanned spacing of lines of text

On my Links page, I inserted text with no spacing between the links. When I "Published" the page there were large spaces between lines - sometimes like I had hit the "enter" key 10 times.

I looked at the HTML - I thought there might be a bunch of "br" but there are not.

I tried deleting the page and started over and got the same results.

what are you using for an editor? if you are using Dreamweaver, Frontpage or some other WYSIWYG editor they can interpret what you want to portray in strange ways...

I would suggest using notepad++, PSPAD or Dremweavers codeview instead of the design view. the first two are preferable for me as they have virtually no overhead on a PC and PSPAD has a built in FTP client

Thanks - I installed Notepad++
Then I composed the page in Notepad++ that I wanted to paste on the Links page I am having trouble with.
I got in pasted then "Save" and "Publish" and Page Wizard did not even recognize the new composition.

I tried pasting two ways. First I deleted all the old text on the Links page and then pasted the new composition. That did not work-new composition did not even show up.
Then I tried pasting at the top of the old text - it didn't work either.

In both attempts, I bypassed Frontpage.

Got any other ideas?
