Hi everybody.

My simple (and dumb, of course) is about transferring my blog from wordpress.com hosting (hosting for total dummies which i was 1 year ago) to your BH hosting. My domain on WP end on 11th July, but i don't wanna wait theese days and don't want to risk my domain name. The risk i'm talking about is a possibility that my domain will be kept by wordpress.com (just to grab some more money for me in case i decide to extend domain ownership). As "transfer-wizard" on a bluehost main page said, i can transfer my domain easily, but in case of smth. i'd like to ask if it secure and guaranteed, that i'll still have my domain name and will be able (can't wait any longer to do that) to update my blog and add some changes to it (cuz if you don't know, wordpress.com offers really limited list of service and blog-owners can't change anything like theme configs).

I hope you understood my question and my concerns.
Sincerely, Damir (from Mother Russia).

Moving your domain and moving your hosting are two separate tasks. In order to ensure that they both transfer correctly you should finish one before starting the other - otherwise the nameservers you change to move the hosting may not get moved properly when you move the domain.

Have you checked with the wordpress.com forums with regards to domain transfers?

One suggestion I would make would be to transfer your domain to an independent domain registrar. Also, I would set up your BH account well before your wordpress account closes. Being that you are from outside the US, you may need to take additional steps to confirm your purchase .
