Out of curiosity, what percentage of new members do you get, join, bung their site link in their id or sig, max one post, totally unrelated to the forum, then bugger off never to be seen or heard of again
From what i have seen so far, this seems to be a regular way of people getting incoming links to sites for free, to build search engine rankings

PHPBB: 30 spam postings a day. I have only one word for this: communism.
I think that PHPBB development team and Bluehost (for offering to install PHPBB) should be held responsible.
I am not saying they were planning evil, but that is what communists also say. And it does not mean that communists should not be electrocuted.

I blame Putin. Because the spammers they are all from Russia. If Putin could kill Basaev, why can't he eradicate spammers? He does not want to. You see: death penalty is not a good deterrent for capital crimes, but for spamming it would do. Imaging dragging a whining spammer to an electric chair, and broadcast all of this. This would stop spam once and for all.

It all comes down to moderation as you all know;) If blue host staff cannot moderate this forum effectively then maybe they need to start promoting a few people from the community, after all that is how the rest of the world works.
I do not have a bad word to say about BH, It has been a pleasure to host with them, the only let down I could see is this forum not been supported and it really needs to be run as a proper forum.
Lets face it if you promote some peeps to moderate the forums and they stuff you then suspend thier accounts, it is an advantage to hosting thier domains.

I think it's not just spam, but a major security hole.
It makes all of us vulnerable to an attack by suicide hackers.

I think bluehostforum.com is ran fine. If someone signs up here and posts a spam message, it get deleted in a few hours. No problem.

For those interested, if you look on the top right-hand corner of each individial post, there is a hazard sign (triangle with red border and exclamation point) and if you click on it, that allows you to report a "bad post." It doesn't automatically delete the post but at least gives the moderators notice that you've found something illicit.
