Here (http://oodt.jpl.nasa.gov/better-web-app.mov) is a very nice web-application framework comparison screencast done by a NASA-JPL consultant. It seems to be originally targetted internally at the people who design NASA's web stuff. They apparently use J2EE and this guy compares that with Rails, Zope/Plone, TurboGears, and Django. The comparisons are pretty systematic (with the addition of a subjective 'fun' factor :)) and they provide some excellent insight. If you're interested in web frameworks, it's definitely worth a watch.
Note: The screencast is a .mov file and is 378 megabytes (it's a big one!). Runtime is just over 36 minutes.
Question is... Will Zope with Plone run on Bluehost servers?

Question is... Will Zope with Plone run on Bluehost servers?
As far as I know right now, no. I've been intending to do some fiddling to see if I can get zope/plone to run behind apache but I have so much on my plate right now that I haven't spent any time on that. Right now, it's pretty much a perpetual "maybe next week". :) I'll of course post the results here if I ever get it working (and if anyone else does first I'm hoping he or she will do the same).
Half a year further down the road...
Does anybody knows if Zope runs on bluehost?
I believe that Java is required for zope/plone. Not just java applets that run on the client, but native java that runs on the server (Tomcat server???). I believe I saw something recently that said that Bluehost servers do not support Java.
BTW, I've been looking lately at MODx and like it a lot. It is kind of like a CMS (Content Management System) and kind of like a web application Framework. They call it a CMF. It is a PHP app so no problem with bluehost.

I do not think so. Java is not mentioned at all on the installation page of Zope.
There are binairies for Win, Linux and Solaris. It should be buildable on all other platforms, if:
"As a general rule of thumb, if Python is available for your operating system, and you have a C compiler and associated development utilities, then you can probably compile Zope."
And it it possible to configure Zope to work behind Apache.
So it should be possible, right?
(What is Bluehost running again? Win or Linux?)

php4applications. It is on the top 10 projects on sourceforge for a few months. Anyways it is pretty popular.
Apparently it is not possible. That is what support told me anyway.
