sorry i just realized this post belongs in "Fantastico, Advanced Scripting, and Coding help!" so i recreated it there (http://www.bluehostforum.com/showthread.php?t=287). Moderator feel free to delete the version here.

Whenever I try to use the gallery2 search feature, i get this error
500 Server Error
A misconfiguration on the server caused a hiccup. Check the server logs, fix the problem, then try again. URL: http://iir.krisp.jp/harupro/main.php
But I totally can't find any relevant error logs anywhere.
The ones in the gallery2 directory don't contain any errors within the last 2 weeks, and the only other error things that pop up from the control panel are one from the mysterious "main error log" (dont know where that is):
[Thu Mar 2 21:58:33 2006] [error] [client 131.113.63.244] Premature end of script headers: /home/crypticf/public_html/iir/harupro/main.php
but that one comes up all the time harmlessly (i assume this is a quirk about gallery)
And the SUEXEC error_log
[2006-03-02 21:58:32]: info: (target/actual) uid: (crypticf/crypticf) gid: (crypticf/crypticf) cmd: main.php
[2006-03-02 21:58:33]: info: (target/actual) uid: (crypticf/crypticf) gid: (crypticf/crypticf) cmd: 500.php
Frustrating because I can't find any error information other than "it didnt work."
Anyone know where to find more detailed error messages?

In case anyone happens to be familiar with this gallery2 problem, I'm using the CVS release updated about 5 hours ago (it didnt work before the cvs update either). Any ideas?

Sort of ironic, I got that same error message when I attempted installing it myself via FTP. (also no error logs).
I then remembered Fantastico, and installed it..and it worked.

i found that a lot of things didnt work with the fantastico install, it was out of date, and included an annoyingly simpsons sound effect and branding (much as i love the simpsons, dont get me wrong, i just didnt see the connection to gallery (other than implying that maybe the user is an idiot?)), so i scrapped that and went with a clean install (for which more things worked, but still not perfect)...
