I'd like to install the Zimbra Collaboration Suite 4 (http://www.zimbra.com).

Has anyone successfully installed Zimba on their website, and if so, can you provide some basic instructions on how you were able to do it? I have shell access, and Zimbra comes with a BASH install script that needs to be run by the root user. That's where I run into my problem. Any advice will be appreciated.

Hi Pvanwagner,

I don't have any solution, and I also be very happy if someone can explain us how to install zimbra on bluehost server.

Although I'm a optimistic boy, I am affraid that it is not possible 'cause bleuhost will never give us a root access. :(

Keep waiting ... :)

The system requirements for Zimbra tell it all. You are better off not trying to install this on a shared hosting account.

You may want to do it on a VPS or a dedicated server but even if you were able to hack the install script to be able to install it locally on your shared hosting account, you would get contact CPU usage errors on your hosting account and it would just be frustrating for you.

You are more than welcome to try, but you should be aware that it really is not intended to be done on shared hosting.

Any chance of bluehost installing zimbra as a webmail option for it's users? I'm sure you would get a great response.
