How often does Bluehost backup mySQL database?

I was just wondering...what happens if you get hacked or something? do you lose all your posts, threads, etc?

When I first purchased Bluehost I called them to see if I could even get through to a real person (a miracle at my old host) and asked about this. They do daily, weekly and monthly backups of everything. I think once a backup is 3-4 months old though, it gets scrapped.

One shouldn't rely 100% on a host to protect them though. It is important to backup data to your own media on a regular basis and protect your site from getting hacked through scripting vulnerabilities by learning how to secure your scripts in the language. SQL Injection is a popular example of this in PHP and probebly other languages as well.
