Collaborative Web Site

I am looking for a web based tool for a small investment club. Currently we use an email list, but that does not give us a place to store documents, URLs, commentary, etc.

So, can you recommend a good tool to use? I looked at the many offerings under Fantastico, but to be honest I can't really tell which would be best for my needs.
