What is going on with box 150. Service has been off and on for the past week. On friday it worked in the morning than at about 11 it went out (which is peak time for most sites). Today the server was working fine at about 7 am then when i logged back on at 8:30 it was gone. I couldn't connect via FTP, login, go to my site, and when i tried to login it got stuck at the logging in now... page and then I got a page not found error. Then I tried to go directly to the shared IP and I didnt even get prompted to login. I am not getting any response for support. I have dont traces and i get request not found.

I moved from a beginner cheap webhost to get an expensive "pro" webhost and what I got was a total nightmare! Slow access, lots of downtimes with no reason that can take more than 24h (like now), database getting corrupted and the daily backup being 2 days old (I lost hundreds of posts...), support never reply when is really needed (when I got my database corrupted, they took 3 days)! My site is down for more than 30h and I don't know why!

BLUEHOST SUCKS!

Yo; I have a small PHP site and forum...and suddenly, about 15 minutes ago, I get a fatal error, telling me the site is not connecting to the database server...Okay...now when I go to my website, my browser says the page is done loading, but the page is BLANK!!! I sent a ticket to bluehost, and no reponse! I've sent a number of tickets over the passed months about questions and issues, and I'd say I only get around 5% of my tickets responded to...on the day of the huge blackout...when my box was down for OVER 3 DAYS, GET THAT...every ticket I sent got a different response: "We're upgrading"; "Servers down because of a poweroutage" etc...and each informed me they'd be back up in 2 hours...off by 3 days staff! Seriously, if Bluehost continues to go down hill, I'm switching hosts...I here 1and1 gives 4 times as much bandwidth, along with tons of cpu...you guys keep adding bandwidth...and yet the servers keep crashing...Who's gonna use all that bandwidth?! I'd upgrade the boxes, instead of the BW ;)

Update: My site's now loading, but VERY VERY SLOWLY...IT takes about 3 minutes to load each page, and only I am viewing my page :(.

maybe they are doing server maintence. Lets not be too hard on them. My box is back up. Hopefully whatever they are doing will help. Personally it is almost impossible to completly use the plan becuase the FTP either doesn't work or goes at turtle speeds. For some reason I am having an issue with all my FTP accounts to the point where i can only use SFTP. Thank god i have SSH because if I didnt I would basically be unable to use my site.

Anyways please dont flame bluehost. Right now their servers are going through some issues. But bluehost has been great in my opinion and I wouldnt use any other host. Just compare bluehost to web.com. I know someone who pays 50 dollars a month for web.com, has a smaller plan than I do, and has tremendous downtime.

It would be great if they had server compensation like other webhosts do. Then they would have 0 downtime because whenever a server goes down the excess CPU from other server is used to compensate. The only prblem with that is that their servers are already overloaded and it would be impossibly slow if one server went down.

Sounds like it might be time to ask for your stuff to be moved to another box.

The Firewall has been having Issues and needs to be rebooted from time to time.
I'm on Box 150 as well and when they reboot the Firewall everything is fast.

As of 1:42 pm eastern box150.bluehost.com appears to be down completely. Pinging box150.bluehost.com results in a request timed out.

Yeah, I am trying to show my work to a prospective employer, and he can't get to my site. THANKS FOR NOTHING, BLUEHOST.

i hope that helps it is just that this is the third time in a few days (im not sure about the weekend.)

If it makes the server faster than they could jst say that. I would have been happy and I would have understood but being ignored doesnt help.
