I noticed on CPanel's website, there is an option for Virus scanning. The CPanel demo is v10, which is what Bluehost uses, but I do not see that option.

The reason I am asking is I recently encountered a virus in one of my emails. However, it was never downloaded to my computer because BoxTrapper caught it. However, when I recently used the backup function to Download Home Directory, it included all the BoxTrapper emails. Hence, I now have a virus on my computer. Whether or not it was able to self execute on its own, I don't know, but McAfee took care of it.

I guess it would be nice if we were able to run a virus scan on the server, tho I would hope Bluehost scans for viruses periodically.

Anyone know why BlueHost would opt not to install this feature on CPanel? Seems like a no-brainer to me. Or does anyone know other antivirus programs or that could achieve the same thing?

CPU usuage nothing more. They just cant afford to put something CPU intensive like that.

While I agree that CPU usage is what makes it unlikely to be implemented, how do you justify Boxtrapper then

My previous host disabled Boxtrapper because of cpu usage. Doesn't matter to me in either case since I've moved my mail to Google hosted, and have been very pleased with it so far.
