Nope I believe ASP will only run reliably on a Windows Machine. There is some talk about BlueHost offering Windows based hosting but, nothing is final yet.

:(
I'm fairly new to this web stuff so let me see if I understand this right....I'm running on windows xp but that doesn't matter since bluehost uses linux as their operating system ??

Correct. You don't have to have linux on your home machine to use bluehost's services.

What I mean is....even though I have windows on my machine and I define an asp page in dreamweaver, it apparently won't work when I test it because bluehost is using linux and doesn't support asp ??

Sorry, I guess I didn't understand your question fully. No, I don't think your ASP files will work on the bluehost servers. I know that you are kind of unfamiliar with the web stuff, but have you considered trying straight HTML and then maybe working up to PHP? I'm not a progammer and it's taken some doing, but I've learned quite a bit by just diving in and experimenting. Also, a good resource for all things web related is http://www.w3schools.com/
Most of what I learned is from just experimenting and trial and error, but that site has a lot of nifty tutorials for those just starting out.
Just a thought.

If you want to be a step ahead of most people you should look into Ruby and Ruby on Rails, Python might be interesting, too.
As a first step though, PHP & MySQL is probably best for you.
