Hello !

I have been using Bluehost for more one month now. Everything was ok till 3 weeks ago ... My site now is not accessible in China !

The main problem is that I live in China and I need it to be accessible from China ...

Will a dedicated IP address solve the problem ?

Any of you with the same pb ? Any Solution ?

Thanks a lot for your help !

Hi Vincent,

A dedicated IP will do you no good if you are having connectivity problems. Instead, try running a tracert from your machine(PC) to the server your site is hosted on like below:

Run a traceroute doing the following:

Windows XP/2000
1. Go to Start > Run...
2. Enter cmd and click OK.
3. At the prompt, type tracert yourdomainname and hit enter.

Windows ME/98/98SE
1. Go to Start > Run...
2. Enter command and click OK.
3. At the prompt, type tracert yourdomainname and hit enter.

.:|NSlookup|:.
An NSlookup doing the following:

Windows XP/2000
1. Go to Start > Run...
2. Enter cmd and click OK.
3. At the prompt, type tracert yourdomainname and hit enter.

Once you have this information, send it to the support team at Bluehost so they can see what can be done to help alleviate the problem.

Unfortunetly, it may be the "Great Firewall of China" that is blocking you from your site. This has been an ongoing issue for quite some time.

Best of luck!

You're welcome. At any rate, you'll be able to see where any slowdowns or time outs are occuring by the * (asterick) in place of any time increments which will show as milliseconds (I think).

Just to inform that now everything seems in order with the dedicated IP ...

Hope it will last long ... !

Thanks,
