4images and spammers

I use 4images on my website.
i had some major major problem with people spamming my portfolio, or 4images gallery.
they would leave comments to pornographic links and for medical drugs and online gambling, the usua stuff.
I went through and banned each IP address, but that didnt seem to help, i think there are 50 ips banned and people are still coming.
I finaly went through and disabled guest posting in each album(didnt even think of that at first).
But i think the spam bots are still coming to my website, because it looks as if my 4images gallery is getting more hits than it should be...i don;t think its actual people there.
Anyone else have this problem?
Is there any way to determine which bots are doing this so i can deny them access in robots.txt?

From what spam I receive on my Wordpress blog (and tracing origins), most comment spam is sent from other countries with limited dial up access. (Turkey, Hungary, Romania, Austria to name a few.)

These countries are assigned large IP blocks to use for dial up access, and every time they sign on and off they are assigned a new IP.
So in a sense.. blocking by IPs is totally useless.

Unless of course you want to block an entire RANGE of IPs.
ex. 122.95.33.* -- the asterik will block everyone on that range, with the last set of numbers from 1 to 255. The only downside to that is if you block and entire range of IPs, you could be restricting access to legitimate users.

Your best bet is to find some sort of 3rd party plugins for the software you use, or write some code yourself.

yeh, i have a bunch of weird countries acces my page, its probably from those.
Well, currently i just have the guest posting disabled and the spamming has stopped, but i still get a bunch of its, wich i dont mind because it makes it look like my website is more active than it is.
i guess i should unblock all those
