Hey there folks.

I have been a bluehost user for a year now, and although i have no experience with other hosts i am impressed with the service provided.

Anyways...

Last week i could not access my sites or cpanel from my pc. i could from other pcs but just not mine. after running antivirus, clearing my browser cache etc it would still not work, so i went an opened a ticket at the help desk (like a fool i only used an email address that would not work as no email where going into outlook either, but quickly realised what i had done and sent it through hotmail!!!")

Those good folk of BH soon sorted it, they asked for my current ip and to send them my trace.txt file (if i sound like i know what that is the you have been fooled!!!)

Once i was back into my cpanel i noticed that an email forwarder had been set up to send email from one of my accounts to some gmail account i have never heard of. I felt invaded, the feelin was almost like coming home to find out your home has been broken into.

Inmstantly i deleted the forwarder and the email accoun that was under threat. I then changed my cpanel password to make double sure that this B*%$£@D wont return.

One week later and i am not able to access my site from my pc again. i have opened another ticket at the helpdesk as i cannot remeber the line of code i had to enter to get the trace.txt file.

Whilst i am waiting for a reply i thought i would mosey on over here and see if anyone else had these problems and what measures you taken.

If my site has been hacked will i have to abandon ship and start again or are things saveable?

Any comments would be really appreciated.

All the best

Shane.

I would check and make sure that your personal information is still correct under cPanel, since they could have changed your contact email and used the email password recovery system to get back into your account.

I'm also curious how your login is protected by BH.
Like how many times can someone enter a wrong password and what happens than?
