Sorry, i have another question to ask. This is regarding my main site and my recent addon domain.

Ok, so i have a "main site" here at bluehost but unfortunately im simply not interested in it anymore. I dont feel like updating it and just dont have interest in it. I just recently purchased a new domain and i have that as my "addon domain."

So my question is, is there a way that i can delete my main site and make my addon domain into the main site for my account? Because i really want to get started on this addon domain site that i just created.

Here are some problems that i face. The only way to do updates on your addon domain site is by going through your main site's control panel. Again, i dont really have interest in my main site anymore though. What if my main site expires. I dont want to have to renew it just to keep my addon domain open and to do updates there.

I really like it here at bluehost, so im really troubled at this. Should i just cancel my account and then do a domain transfer onto a new bluehost account? I'm not really sure what's the best choice. If an admin or one of you folks could help me out, i would be forever grateful! Thank you.

you can access your cpanel, ftp and mysql with your add on domain. Just use the new domain instead of your old one: yourdomain.com/cpanel. And just let your old domain expire. As for the username to access, it will be the same as it always have been. (the first few letters of the domain you registered with), but I bet if you call customer service, they might be able to change it for you. Although, I’m skeptical about that, because your mysql databases and other account related things are tired into that username. They’d have to change everything.

If you would like your AddOn domain to be your main domain, we can do that for you. It's best if you call us and allow us to do the change with you on the phone.

However, there are a few ramifications involved by doing the rename.

Essentially we will be "renaming" your main domain to your AddOn domain. Because of this, you will lose any email addresses, or Databases that are associated with the main domain. This is because all of these services are "tied" to your account by your username, which is derived from the main domain name.

If you don't care about losing anything with your main domain, it's quite a simple to do the rename.

Call us up and we can do it for you in about 5 minutes.

Thank you!!! Yeah, i just got the account about a month ago, and i haven't even updated it that much or done much with it yet, that's why im not interested in it anymore. So yeah, i'll be sure to give you guys a call to do the rename, since i dont have much on my main account anyways, anything you delete wont matter. :p

As long as my addon domain becomes my main site and it fucntionally works, its all good.

Thanks again for your guys help. I really preciate it!
